I’m in a piece from artist Ted Weldon’s latest line of work. The piece is entitled ‘Shu’. www.tedweldonart.com
It is a very large canvas... I’m not even sure how big - maybe 8’ x 5’? That is a total guess though! It looks amazing in person. You will have to keep posted for the release of his full line so you can see more, but I’ll tell you there is another piece titled ‘Isis at the Gates’ that I would pay a million dollars for, if I could. His line really draws in the viewer to seek their own interpretation, yet is also art you would love to be surrounded by. His work is so beautiful.

So, I had a meeting with my agent at City Models last week to discuss modeling abroad. Top picks will be Tokyo and Seoul. We are also going to send my book out to Germany, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, and Greece as other options. We set a timeframe for end of August. I’m really excited!

I will be around San Francisco and Sacramento until then, really focusing on still building my book and getting any tearsheets possible. I do have a few about to come out and those will be great additions. I want my book to be as strong as possible for traveling!

I had so much fun in Miami, learned some great lessons there (such as, people put WAY too much makeup on me! Had to do a lot of work to freshen up my book!), and am eager to get on to my next traveling adventure!

In other news... I just booked a job shooting for IMPULS zapatos, a mexican shoe catalog. Shot for them yesterday. Call time was 4:40 AM in San Francisco, which means I was up at 1 AM! Gnarly! lol.

I’m getting new comp cards any day now... yippee!

Also, I have been collaborating on a new musical project with Nate and Ted Weldon. We are about 5 songs in on our album... hopefully we’ll get some more work done on it today. Having a new creative outlet is so refreshing, and I have to say that I am really intimidated in a good way by how talented Nate and Ted are - can’t wait for you to hear it!

A small pic of me made it into the June/July issue of Sactown Magazine in a feature about the Caren Templet runway show I was in recently. I’m in the black gown, which was the grand finale of the show. The news stand said they would get the new issue in tomorrow - I’m excited to grab a copy! :)

Banana Republic!!

Today I shot for Banana Republic! It was the most exciting job - I could barely sleep last night thinking about it. What a dream come true! I shot 5 looks for Fall 2010. The images will be used for in-store front window displays, mailers, and email campaigns. I am so excited! It was such a fun day of shooting. I got to the studio and they had fresh fruit, quiche, and pastries - and they made me a cappuccino. Yummy! Their upcoming Fall line is really cute! They have the most amazing leather jacket coming out - I actually wore it in their runway show I recently did, too. I really really want it! Super soft and comfy.

Keep your eyes peeled for the campaign in stores from 8/5-10/25!! :) :) I am going to go get my picture taken in front of one (and hopefully steal one too, lol). I’ll post when I can!

Shoot w/Rus Anson

I had the most spectacular shoot with Rus Anson last Thursday (and lucky me, I am also shooting with her this Thursday - tomorrow! Yay!). You can hardly believe it, but Rus is still a student at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. She’s about to graduate, and I can see now how bright her future is. Truly an artist and creative spirit. My jaw dropped open when I saw these final images! Completely unexpected and whimsical while staying true to a fashion story - love them! I can’t tell you how much fun it was to shoot in a bed in the ocean... what a crazy experience to feel the water rushing under the antique bed! I haven’t felt that since I was three and wet the bed... LOL... ;) Kidding! Super fun shoot, though. You should have seen our pile of props on the beach... a moose head, antique bed, giant fish, toxically large looking fake vegetables!! :) Thank you Rus!

Back from Miami!

Miami was such a whirlwind! My time there flew by. I loved my jogs on the boardwalk, new friends, model dinners, and living in the models apartment. It was such a new experience!

Competition was fierce. There were so many models there! I think I did well considering the amount of time I was there and that it was my first season in Miami. I am most anticipating the swim editorial I shot for Venue magazine to come out :)

Miami!

I’ve been in Miami almost two weeks now, and things are going great! I booked a runway show for Rene Ruiz, which happened this last Tuesday. I wore beautiful gowns and diamond jewelry. I have booked a paid test shoot through my agency which I will be shooting this week or the week after. I have a beauty test shoot scheduled with Marc Adrian on this next Thursday. I’ve also booked a swim editorial for Venue Magazine, scheduled for this next Friday. I’ve been busy busy with castings, including a runway casting with a gentleman who books most of the big shows in Miami - and it went well! :)

I’m living in a models apartment - actually a condo on one of the top floors of a very nice hotel right on the beach. We have a GORGEOUS pool and hot tub. My roommates and I feel so lucky! We can jog on the boardwalk, have morning yoga by the pool, go to the gym... sooo nice :) Plus the beach is in our own backyard. I feel like I’m in a dream. I’ve been working out a lot and focusing on eating healthy, and happy to say my measurements have fallen into place without too much effort - THANK GOODNESS. lol. It helps to have focused roommates.

Speaking of roommates - I am living with three other lovely ladies. One from Israel, one from Minnesota, and one from Ohio. I think we were all surprised at how well we get along. We feel like Charlie’s Angels cruising around SoBe together.

The season is picking up... so we are looking forward to more castings jobs and shoots - so exciting! I feel like the luckiest girl... I have worked so hard for this opportunity, but I can’t say I ever expected anything like this. I can’t help but feel overwhelmed by the fact that I am living my dream. Dreams DO come true sometimes. So lucky. So so lucky. I can’t express my gratitude enough. I have no idea what the future will hold, but right now I am experiencing this to the fullest. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I just feel absolutely blessed to even be here.

2009 - A Recap

2009 was an extremely eventful year! Looking back I can hardly believe everything that happened in both my personal and professional life. I find myself with a new circle of loved ones, and a better standing in my modeling career.

I did so many photo shoots that my portfolio and body of work must have at least tripled in size... if not more than that! I scored not only my 1st magazine cover - but also my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th!! All in one year! One for DigitalArts, two for Today’s Bride (one still to be released in the Spring of 2010), Sacramento Magazine (which was a goal of mine since I started modeling), and View Camera Magazine. I also did a cover for a special section of the San Francisco Bay Guardian. I also shot three magazine editorials - two for Our Weddings Magazine, and one for Shape Magazine. I booked my first Look Book for Josh Podoll, and also did Look Books for Nomade Exquis and Mary Frances Accessories. I did the Ad Campaign for Haute Bride, and shot for Solage Spa and Like.com. Filmed a hilarious commercial for Trojan Condoms (Very PG and full of laughs), a commercial for the CA State Fair, and a very cool music video for the band Jackson Road. All that, along with numerous runway shows, made for an extremely eventful year! I also got the exciting news that I was signed by 301 Model Management in Miami (I will be working in their market for their busy season, Jan 11th-April 2) and SMG Models in Seattle (I will be visiting them later in April).

On top of work, I also went through eventful times in my personal life. I won’t get into all the details... but I found myself leaving one world behind for another - changing my entire situation... my entire outlook. I feel so blessed today with loved ones. I never could have imagined the place I am now a year ago. Life’s twists and turns were extreme this last year, and I am grateful for every tear and trial of 2009.

2010 is already looking like a big year. I find myself anticipating my upcoming work season in Miami with excitement and nervousness. I have dreamed of modeling in another market since the very beginning, and to be completely honest I had my doubts as to whether I would ever be able to! Now that it’s coming I can hardly believe it... it won’t sink in until I’m on that plane. I am going to miss people at home so much... but the opportunity before me feels like a new burst of life. I know that it will be the experience of a lifetime. I want to enjoy every moment of it as much as I can. The last week in particular has been difficult though. I’ll be fine one minute and crying the next. I feel like one of those crazy chicas who PMS’s to the nth degree. As a spiritual person who looks down on the compulsiveness of the Id, I can’t help but be driven slightly mad over all these emotions! LOL. I am trying to appreciate my emotions for what they are, and just keep on keeping on! The days until my flight keep dwindling away... and I’ll be gone before I know it!
